Poker Rules on BlindsTexas hold 'em poker is one of America's popular and exciting poker games. There's much more challenge in it and players are more goaded to put more daring action and do something to grab a win---not just idly wait for luck to happen. Here's how we play it. At the start of the game, the first of the poker rules observed is that two players to the left of the dealer must place down their "blinds." A blind is a forced bet, in keeping with Texas poker rules, often at the start of the game. Other poker rules require players to put their "antes" first before the cards can be dealt. Blinds are of two types: it's either a small or big blind. In Texas poker rules, one requirement is that big blinds are higher than small blinds---usually about twice as much as a small blind. So after the blinds are finalized, Texas poker rules say that only then may cards be dealt by the dealer. What are blinds for? Why settle blinds first before cards could be dealt? Blinds set the atmosphere right. They are supposed to stir players into action. Just imagine if blinds were not part of Texas poker rules and players could just sit idly around and make no initiative for some real poker action. The tendency probably is to merely declare folds until the best hands show up right before their eyes without much effort and daring and risks. Here's how to visualize poker rules taking form on the table: The dealer is at the center, next to the left is the player with a small blind, and next is the player with the big blind. Texas poker rules say that the next player holds the first position, and the next player (the fourth from the dealer) holds the second position, and so on. Positioning of the dealer is shown this way: A small round button, which is found right in front of the dealer, specifies the dealer's position, as stated in Texas poker rules. When playing online, poker rules say blinds are automatically reflected in the "pot" when one joins a table or room. There's an option to play without blinds, especially when playing free online poker. Otherwise, this option may be used when leaving the room or table. Poker rules on blinds are in place to give the game a kick right from the beginning. Hence, Texas hold 'em poker and other types with similar poker rules, are more animated. | |
